            Two apples peeled, cored and sliced.
            Two beets peeled and sliced
            ¼ of a cabbage sliced.
            1 inch grated ginger
            A sprig of parsley to garnish
            Linseed oil – if required.

            A great side dish to support the immune system. Beetroots contain antioxidants which help cleanse the blood and support the liver by regenerating immune cells. They also help keep hair and skin and bones healthy. Apples are a rich source of Vitamin C for immune support; fibre (in the pectin in apple skins) to keep the gut healthy, and quercetin which helps keep cholesterol levels healthy.
        • Apple Beets

          Beetroot and Apples

          Start by steaming the beets for about 5 minutes, and then add the apples, after 5 more minutes add the cabbage.

           

          When steamed to desired tenderness add the ginger and stir.  Steam the ingredients for a further minute.

           

          Drain if necessary. Allow to cool a little before adding a little linseed oil before serving.
